The Subtitle Cleaner tool helps remove unwanted elements from your subtitle files. For example: Remove HTML tags, delete empty lines, eliminate excess text formatting. This makes your subtitles more readable and compatible across various platforms.
Remove excess spaces
Removes unnecessary spaces between words and lines. This includes eliminating multiple consecutive spaces, trimming whitespace at the beginning/end of lines, and removing other redundant spaces to create cleaner subtitles.

Remove empty lines
Deletes all blank lines containing no content in the subtitles. This makes the subtitle file more concise and easier to read by eliminating unnecessary spacing between subtitle entries.

Remove tags
Removes all formatting tags and similar markup. This cleans up the subtitle text and ensures compatibility with players that don't support formatting.

Remove SDH
Removes Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of hearing (SDH) such as [Laughter], [Applause], (Background music), etc. This creates subtitles containing only spoken dialogue for regular viewers.

Remove line breaks
Combines multiple lines into a single line by removing line breaks. Useful when you want to reformat subtitles or convert to formats that don't support multiple lines.

Remove non-printable characters
Removes control characters and special invisible characters such as Unicode control characters, null characters, and hidden formatting characters. This ensures subtitles contain only readable text.
Capitalize first letter
Automatically capitalizes the first letter of each sentence - at the start of every line and after sentence-ending punctuation (. ! ?). The rest of the text is left unchanged. Useful for tidying up English subtitles.

Remove advertisements
Removes subtitle lines containing advertisements, watermarks, or credits - such as web addresses, "Subtitles by", "Downloaded from", and similar promotional text added by subtitle distributors.

Remove music lines
Removes lines marked as music or lyrics, such as those containing ♪, ♫, or 🎵 symbols, or lines wrapped in # marks, keeping only the spoken dialogue.

Fix punctuation spacing
Removes spaces before punctuation marks (, . ! ? : ;) and adds a missing space after them. Numbers like 1.5 or 10:30, ellipses, and web addresses are left untouched.

Normalize special characters
Converts curly quotes to straight quotes, the ellipsis character to three dots, long dashes to hyphens, and non-breaking or invisible spaces to regular spaces for maximum player compatibility.

Remove dialogue dashes
Removes the leading "- " dialogue markers at the start of each line, commonly used when two speakers share the same subtitle.

Remove duplicate lines
Removes consecutive subtitle entries whose text is identical to the previous entry, which often appear in auto-generated or OCR captions.
